CHAPTER 20
CUP-MARKED STONES
Ancient Bronze-Age Rock Carving
Yet another part of my research into earth energies was to investigate the purpose of cup-marks. Recounting the full story of the adventure is outside the scope of this book, but it is sufficient to say at present that creating cup-marks in stone is a very good way of eliminating unhealthy energies, particularly spirals.Cup-marks are hollows carved into stone. Sometimes called rock art or petroglyphs, their existence has puzzled scientists and archaeologists around the world. Since there is little or no dateable evidence associated with them, experts can only guess their age. In 1979, one eminent archaeologist, Ronald W.B.Morrison, who spent much of his working life investigating them, suggested a date of approximately 3,200BC to AD 100. This has been challenged little by more recent researchers.
Cup-marks range from simple little hollows (about 5 in.(12mm) across, generally round, but occasionally oval-shaped), to much larger 'basins', 6 in. (15cm) wide. Some are surrounded by an additional ring or rings, which may have a gap, or have a groove running through them. Others are joined together by a groove. The grooves usually run down from the cup, suggesting to some that the stones have been used for sacrificial purposes, letting the blood from the victims flow down, although there is no archaeological evidence of this(1).
Cup-marks are to be found usually in clusters in parts of the world. In Britain there are few south of Yorkshire. Some can be found in Derbyshire. They may be discovered above ground on standing stones, earth-fast boulders in fields, small moveable boulders, horizontal rock faces or hidden in caves, like Wemyss Cave, Fife. They are also to be found in souterrains (sometimes called weems, fogues, or earth houses), or cists, stone-age coffins, or in chambered mounds.
The beautifully sculpted marks in the rock at Ormaig, near Kilmartin, Argyll, are good examples. Since childhood, I have been fascinated by these mysterious legacies from the distant past and, having completed most of my research into the energy leys across Scotland, I determined to try and find out what our ancestors may have done
Bronze Age petroglyphs - cup-marked rocks at Ormaig, Kilmartin, West of Scotland
I tuned into a local, rather unimpressive cup-marked stone. From eight cup-marks on this stone there was given off a stream of individual waves which traversed the country for many kilometres, until they came to a major geological fault, where the ground had been displaced vertically. Now a waterfall tumbled over it. I followed the energy waves as they turned upstream, close to the tumbling water. Eventually, they led me almost to the source of the river, then, unexpectedly, turned at right angles to the water, forming a little circle of energy. Inside that little pool of energy were the remains of a shieling, a rough shelter for a shepherd. What was happening was that the energy from this stone, using the 'carrier wave' emitted by an underground stream directly beneath it, crossed the country until it came to a river running over a major fault. It followed this almost to its source, presumably picking up negative ions on its way. At this point were large circular patterns scattered around the glen, similar in shape to those on the original stone. The patterns on the stone initiated small pools of energy, inside of which were the remains of small habitations.
Rather nonplussed at this strange effect, yet realising that there was something very important and powerful to be discovered, I determined to find the reason our apparently highly skilled and intuitive ancestors had used and manipulated such a curious system of natural energies. I used my divining rod to find how any unhealthy energy waves reacted to such an energy field. All unhealthy waves were diverted around the shielings. The eight cup-marks on that stone, many kilometres away, were protecting the eight ancient homes from unhealthy energies.
This led me to try and make my own cup-marked stones. I discovered that when you hammer such a mark into a stone, you create a magnified image of that mark some ten metres from the stone. The size of the image is about seventy times the size of the cup-mark. This is projected towards the Sun. Carving a ring around the cup-mark magnifies the size of the pool of energy, and carving a line towards the Sun shows the direction of the projected energy.
If you can imagine a lollipop on a stick, you will get an idea of the shape of energy from the stone. The wavelength is about 33 in. (84 cms.), and amplitude 5 1/2 in. (l4 cms.)The extraordinary thing about this ancient technology is that the magnified image or pool of energy from the stone is further magnified when placed outside a building. Such a marked stone can be left outside a house to protect it and deflect the unhealthy waves around the building.

CARRIER WAVES
As time passed, however, it became obvious that this was not the complete picture. As stated, some badly affected houses had 100 per cent invasion of unhealthy waves, with no healthy waves at all. When i cleared these unhealthy waves from such a house, there should have been no waves of either type inside at all. Yet this was not the case, there were waves, many of them, and they were, apparently, healthy. One explanation for this anomaly may be that the waves are in two parts: a carrier wave of healthy energy, which has a wave of unhealthy positive ions attached to it. Using a cup-marked stone as an energy shield around a house may deflect the unhealthy waves of ions around the house, leaving the healthy carrier waves to pass into the house.
We have already seen something similar to this splitting of energy waves: Fig. l1 (p115) shows how elements of the vertical nergy waves above an underground stream are warped to either side at 45 degrees. In fig. 21 (p. 136) the overgrounds of an energy ley tune into two spirals above an underground stream. A spiral boxed in by two sets of crossing waves, pirates its energy from them in what is probably a complicated circuit (fig.27, p. 150). None of these incidents included the existence of cup-marked stones.
Another unexpected finding was that unhealthy spirals in a house protected by a cup-marke stone were protected by a cup-marked stone were changed to healthy ones. This may be because the single wave directly above an underground stream may have a polarity depending upon the type of geological strata it passes through on its way to the surface. Clay, for example, would give an unhealthy quality to that line, and any unhealthy component of the surface energy ley would tune into it, to be reflected back as an unhealthy spiral.
If there is no unhealthy energy ley stream available to focus into the wave above the stream, then the spiral will be starved and cannot reflect upwards to give the normal double unhealthy spiral as in fig. 19.
MAKING YOUR OWN CUP-MARKED STONE
Here are step-by-step instructions on how to make your own cup-marked stone. It is easier if the selected stone is carefully kept in the same position throughout the exercise.1. Find a stone with a diameter of about I ft (30 cms). It must be of a size which you can pick up without too much difficulty, but sufficiently heavy that it will not be disturbed easily when in place. You will need a type of rock that is not too hard. The rocks I have used contain some quartz, which may help to create the effect we want.
2. With a heavy hammer and cold chisel, make a depression about l ins. (2 1/2 cms) deep and 2ins. (5 cms) across. Use goggles when cutting the stone, and gloves, as stone chips can easily damage eyes and hands.
3. Accurately chalk a line from the centre of the cup-shaped depression towards the Sun and hammer this until you have carved a deep groove. It is best to wait until the Sun is fairly low in the sky, and not overhead, unless you wish to experiment. Since it is the Sun which literally attracts the energy from the stone towards itself, the iines of waves into the Sun will fan out slightly during the 20 minutes or so that the stone is being carved. This will allow for easier orientation when you come to place it in position - accuracy here is essential.
4. Chalk a ring about 5 ins. (13cms) diameter around the depression, and carve this out as well.
5. Check, if possible, with your dowsing rod, that the waves are, fact, flowing in the direction marked.
6. Carve your initials prominently on the stone, to avoid the posibility of the local amateur archaeologist removing it to the much safer premises of the museum!
7. The energy waves from the stone will have become "fixed" after a few hammer blows, and, after completion, the stone can be turned in any direction, the Sun now having no effect. It can now be placed in an area of the garden where it will not be disturbed, within one metre of your house, with the line from the centre of the cup pointing directly forward to the house wall. In other words, the line and the wall of the house should take the form of a 'T', the line on the stone the vertical component of the T, and the wall of the house the top part of the T. Any side of the house will do, although I prefer the sunny south side. The stone should be aimed preferably at a middle line of the house rather than near a corner.
If this has been done correctly, energy waves projected from the stone should travel towards the building, split into two, then follow the walls in both directions, forming a complete 'shield ring' around it. Any size of house or building can be protected by this simple and inexpensive device, even an entire street, providing all the buildings are connected and have no alleyways for the energy to return to source. Any incoming unhealthy waves will be diverted around the building, down the streets or lanes at either side. You can check this with your dowsing rod for unhealthy energies, although anyone without this ability can protect their own house perfectly easily by simply following the instructions.
Check any unhealthy spiral that entered the dwelling before the cup-marked stone was placed, to make sure that it has changed polarity. This can be verified if the incoming healthy energy now passes through glass windows and mirrors into the centre of that same spiral.
I have found that over a period, the pool of energy created by the stone tends to contract back towards the stone a little. It may eventually fail short of the building itself, if it is placed too far away, therefore setting the stone as close to the building as possible is a wise precaution.
If the exercise does not work, it may be that the stone is directly above an underground stream which may be causing your problem. The energy wave above the stream serves as a carrier wave, sending the energy from the cup-marked stone downstream and negating the exercise. Shift the stone to another part of the house, if necessary, until any incoming unhealthy waves are diverted around the house.
Another common problem is when the energy waves from the stone are not projected towards the wall at 90°, and, instead of splitting and running around the house, are diverted to one side or another for only a few metres. If this happens, try turning the stone just a few degrees at a time until any unpleasant effect in the house is removed.
There should now be no incoming unhealthy waves except, perhaps, from one line directly above any water vein. Even this line can be diverted by inserting a metal stake, or better still, a wider sheet of metal in the upstream side of the underground stream in the garden as described in a previous chapter. A carefully placed crystal of amethyst or other semi-precious stone can also be beneficial, providing it doesn't cause its own problems to any sensitive person
CURRY AND HARTMANN GRIDS
There should now be very few unhealthy energy waves in the house. There will still be some from internal microwave ovens VDUs televisions, etc., but now they will not be able to earth their energy into any unhealthy spiral, since these have their polarity automatically changed by this remedial action. The only remaining problem may possibly be from the Hartmann and Curry grids, which, as far as I know, are not diverted by this form of protection. (See Chapter 14 for a fuller explanation of these Grids.) Unfortunately, since this form of protection requires a garden, or at least an area where such a stone can be sited, many buildings in built up areas will not be able to use such a device. It is imperative that you understand that it is not beneficial to use this method if neighbouring property will be affected. This form of energy shield is perfect around a bungalow or semi-detached house (if the neighbours are agreeable), but has obvious disadvantages in a larger building with a number of families, some of whom might be sensitive to such changes. Apart from this, in a large building, the unhealthy energy is warped in close waves around it, perhaps giving neighbouring buildings a slightly higher dose of the deflected energy waves.
One notable advantage this form of clearing a building has over others, is that if anyone feels that his/her health is deteriorating as a resut of using this method, then the stone can easily be turned to point away from the dwelling, in other words, 'switched off" within moments.
OBSERVE CAUTION WITH HEART PROBLEMS
Since I have started using this technique to clear buildings, I have had a great deal of success in helping people back to health. It works best with those who have recently moved into a geopathically stressed zone, if they are aware enough to seek help quickly. Also, it seems togive some relief to people suffering from long-term illness, Occasionally, the results can be very pronounced, although I uggest that some illnesses like heart problems, for example, the stone should be left in the working poition for a few hours during the day at first, gradually building up to a round-the-clock protection. To date, I have had no negative feedback from anyone whose house has been protected in this way. In three cases of illness and associated attacks from demonic spirits and poltergeists, the cup-marked stone appeared to have made these paranormal phenomena worse. In spite of this, the health of the occupants improved. So, be very careful with this ancient technology; use it only for yourself and your family, and then with great care, because what benefits one person may cause discomfort to another.
Every year or so, it is advisable to strike the cup-marked depression on the stone a few blows to further amplify the energy. Do not forget to turn the stone so that the grooved line faces into the sun when you hammer it, and also, please remember to protect your eyes with good quality goggles.
Cup-marked stones have a variety of uses, and in their original form, may have been used in protecting houses from apparitions and evil spirits. Given the variety of types of prehistoric cup-marked stones still seen around the country there must be other uses yet to be discovered. There is an old Welsh saying that when cup-marked stones are finally decoded, then all of the ancient arts and sciences will be revealed!
HAMMERING STONES
J. Havelock Fidler also wrote some years ago of hammering stones, and the peculiar qualities of stones thus worked- Following T. C. Lethbridge's discovery that stones could be imprinted with a female energy simply by asking a woman to handle one for a short time, or conversely, a male energy by a man, he found that the energy 'rate' could be fixed, simply by heating the stone in a fire, leaving it near an electromagnet, or by hitting the stone with a hammer, being careful not to touch it himself in the process. (See earlier references to the work of J.Havelock Fidler and T.C.Lethbridge).I had not read J.Havelock Fidler's book for some ten years, and had forgotten much about his discoveries. This was important to me, since I did not wish to be prejudiced in my own research. When I re-read his book, I found interesting parallels. Three stones he hammered and set up in a row projected a line of energy fore and aft, which immediately reminded me of the tandem effect from nuclear submarines and power stations, etc. Hammering a stone in my hand gave a slightly shorter wavelength than his — 41 ins.(104 cms} against his45'/2ins.(l 16 cms). A 'female charged' stone, which I presume was handled by his wife, gave an even longer wavelength of 55ins. (140cms). We must remember that the shorter the wavelength, the greater the energy imprinted in the stone, although this has nothing to do with how hard or how often the stone is hit, as it can reach a 'saturation point'.
It may be, therefore, that some people are unable to work cup-marks into stones and gain the full effect, because of the wavelength of their own energy. If you cannot get a stone to work, try gettting someone else to do it for you.
Dr.Fidler believed, as I had come to, that by painstakingly hammering and sculpting standing stones and circles, pyramids and statues, and later monasteries and cathedrals, men imparted their energy into the fabric of the stone. This is still discernible, even many years later, if you seek to find this energy by using the tools our ancestors used.NOTE

2. This remaining line is much more important than i originally suspected. The worst cases of C.F.S., for instance, have had this line running the length of the victim's body. As the line tends to wander around at random, it is difficult to locate with divining rods, and the best advice is simply to shift your sleeping place until the symptoms disappear. Since this line travels vertically upwards, glass windows and mirrors have no effect on it, as it 'sees' them as an obstacle only a few millimetres thick.
